Scripture: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.” — 1 Corinthians 13:4 (NIV)

Good morning!

In a world that often rewards impatience, self-promotion, and competition, God calls us to a different way of living—the way of love.

Paul begins his famous description of love not with feelings, but with actions. Love is patient. Love is kind. These qualities are often tested in our daily interactions—with family, coworkers, church members, and even strangers. Patience means giving people room to grow. Kindness means choosing compassion when we could choose criticism.

Notice what love is not. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. Love is not focused on elevating itself; it seeks the good of others. True Christian love reflects the character of Christ, who humbled Himself and served others even unto death on the cross.

As you begin this day, ask yourself: How can I demonstrate God’s love today? Who needs patience from me? Who needs kindness? Where do I need to surrender pride and allow Christ’s love to shine through me?

The greatest witness we can offer the world is not merely what we say about Jesus, but how we love like Jesus.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for loving me with a patient and unfailing love. Help me to reflect Your love today in my words, attitudes, and actions. Teach me to be patient when I am frustrated, kind when I am challenged, and humble when I am tempted to think only of myself. Let Your love flow through me so that others may see Christ in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Before the day ends, intentionally show patience and kindness to someone who may not expect it. Let God’s love be visible through your actions.
